Map shows Nottinghamshire's Covid-19 rate divide

A divide is forming between areas with high Covid rates and those which have basically eradicated the virus across Nottinghamshire.

Currently, Mansfield district has the highest Covid-19 rate per 100,000 in the country at 104.3.

This is nearly four times the England average of 28.1 per 100,000 people, with individual Mansfield neighbourhoods having rates more than five or six times the average.

There are seven areas in Mansfield with rates ranging from 101.2 (Yeoman Hill and Maun Valley) to 180.8 (Grange Farm and Ladybrook).

The only other areas with rates above 100 are in Nottingham, where Arnold Town has a rate of 115.0 and Woodthorpe and Arno Vale has a rate of 119.4.

In many neighbourhoods in Nottinghamshire, rates are described as being 'suppressed' showing up as white, meaning there are fewer than three cases of Covid-19 recorded.

The divide between the highest rates and lowest are becoming more prominent as areas stand out in light or dark green (rates below 99).

Across the majority of areas in the light green, there are only three or four active cases of Covid-19 such as in Mapperley Park, where the rate is 34.9 or Bestwood where the rate is 31.5.

Where there is a downward trend, it suggests more of these neighbourhoods could also be suppressed soon too.
