Map shows Merseyside's most affordable postcodes for house hunters

Liverpool's 'most affordable' locations for first time buyers have been revealed.

Those looking to buy a property can now find the best areas to purchase with a heatmap launched by Purplebricks.

The estate agents has created the heatmap as the property market has become more competitive and many are currently struggling to get on the housing ladder.

Purplebricks research found that the average first time buyer’s budget in Liverpool is currently £159,162.

The means most first time buyers are searching for properties around £160,000 - £180,000.

Further research found that one in ten people from Liverpool are now considering moving up to 25 miles away from their place of work due to being less constrained by the commute.

Taking the average first time buyer’s budget and combining it with the increased willingness to look further afield, Purplebricks has created a heatmap of all its properties at this level and below.

This heatmap can let first time buyers see at a glance the most affordable locations in their region.

Based on this heatmap, Purplebricks has revealed the best postcode in Liverpool for first time buyers in the Liverpool region is Bootle, Kirkdale and Orrell Park.

Purplebricks sent the ECHO two examples of houses that are for sale in Merseyside's 'most affordable' areas.

One is a two bedroom semi-detached on Westfields Drive, Bootle, on the market for £165,000.

The property boasts new kitchen and bathroom facilities and two double bedrooms.

The front garden has a driveway for off road parking and the back of the property benefits from a yard.

This three bedroom terraced house on Park Street, Bootle, is on the market for £115,000 and is also described as being perfect for 'first time buyers' by Purplebricks.

The Park Street property has a large front garden and a garden with artificial grass in the back.

Inside the property is a front facing living room that leads into a dining room. Upstairs are three double bedrooms, though one bedroom could be used as a 'home office or study'.

Neil Buoey, Local Property Expert for Purplebricks said: "L20 is a good area for first time buyers particularly in the new development area with the likes of Keble Road, Exeter and Hertford Road. I would say this has had a regenerative effect on the surrounding area.

"You also have Daniel House in Bootle, the former office block converted to modern apartments which even has a rooftop restaurant. I would say there has been an increase in popularity in the Bootle Strand area.

"There is a shopping centre, two train stations, and a couple of popular pubs - so it really does have all the amenities and has a city buzz feeling to it, which is appealing to many first time buyers."
