Map of the Soul: Persona: BTS fans praise ‘legendary’ Ed Sheeran collaboration on new album

BTS fans were left stunned after the K-pop superstars casually released an Ed Sheeran collaboration as part of their new album Map of the Soul: Persona.

The track, titled Make It Right, appeared on their latest release which dropped on Friday.

Sheeran described the project as an “honour” after revealing he helped write the song in an Instagram post.

Sharing a screenshot of the album cover, the Happier hit maker wrote: “This is the first K pop song I’ve had the honour of helping write. Check out the rest of the project too. Well done @bts.bighitofficial.”

Fans were left in bits over the collaboration, with many thanking Sheeran for his work.

One user wrote: “WAIT I STILL CANT BELIEVE ED SHEERAN CO-PRODUCED BTS' 'MAKE IT RIGHT' ITS A WHOLE BOP.”

“Make It Right. This is so beautiful!”

A third added: “LIKE WTF, ED SHEERAN AND BTS?????!!!! the f*** my faves in one song, literally the cause of my death.” [sic]

Meanwhile a fourth declared: “I will never stop talking about Ed Sheeran and BTS collab. It’s legendary. Ed Sheeran and BTS collab is legendary. Ed Sheeran.”

Sheeran is not the only artist to collaborate with the seven-piece group on the album.

Who are BTS?

Earlier this week BTS teased a look at their new music video for Boy With Luv, featuring Halsey.

The 46-second teaser clip showed a flame-haired Halsey finishing her shift at the Persona cinema whilst the group sat outside on a sofa in hot-pink outfits.

BTS have since released the full video alongside their album drop, with the promo receiving mass approval from fans over its “retro vibes.”

The new album comes after the group concluded their three-year Love Yourself trilogy last August.

BTS are set to headline two sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium in June as part of their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour.
