Manus AI Launches Wide Research: 5 Things No One’s Talking About

Manus AI has launched Wide Research. As the name suggests, the feature is aimed at handling large-scale research. However, there is more going on under the hood. So, in this story, I have decided to talk about five things you might have missed about Manus Wide Research. So without further ado, let’s get started.

1. It’s System-Level Parallel Processing

At first glance, the Wide Research might appear like a feature designed for diving into large datasets or scanning hundreds of sources, but at its core, it’s a new way to orchestrate parallel computing. It creates a network of fully capable agents, each running in its own dedicated virtual machine. So instead of working in a linear, single-threaded way, Manus breaks tasks into parts and processes them in parallel. That makes it faster and more capable than traditional AI assistants.

    2. Every Subagent Is a Full Manus Instance

In most multi-agent systems, you’ll see predefined roles like “researcher,” “analyst,” or “coder.” That’s not the case with Wide Research. Here, each subagent is a complete version of Manus. This allows for more flexible workflows because no single agent is restricted to a narrow skill set. They can adapt in real time to the task they’re given, whether it’s pulling market data, summarizing technical papers, or building out a custom workflow.

      3. It’s Built on a Supercharged Virtualization Stack

Behind the scenes, the company has upgraded its infrastructure to make Wide Research possible. The platform can now scale compute resources up to 100× per user. This kind of raw power was previously limited to engineers with access to complex cloud systems. Manus brings it to anyone with a keyboard.

        4. You’re Not Just Chatting With One Agent Anymore

When you use Wide Research, you’re essentially tapping into a cluster of agents, all running simultaneously, all working toward the same goal. What makes it different from other AI platforms is the way these agents coordinate without relying on rigid hierarchies. That allows for a more dynamic division of labor, improving both speed and quality of results.

5.The Rollout Strategy Suggests Bigger Things Are Coming

Right now, Wide Research is available only for Manus Pro users, with plans to roll it out to Plus and Basic tiers later. But the team says this feature is only the beginning and part of a broader infrastructure buildout. That likely means more advanced capabilities are on the way, potentially moving Manus even closer to the idea of fully autonomous, cloud-native AI agents.
