Manuel Pellegrini 'plotting West Ham move' for Man City midfielder Fabian Delph

Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini wants Fabian Delph at West Ham this summer, reports say.

Delph continues to be linked with a move away from City, with the 29-year-old said to be available for around £15m.

The England international made just 20 appearances this season, as Oleks Zinchenko became Pep Guardiola's first choice left-back in the absence of Benjamin Mendy.

Now, Football Insider  say Pellegrini remains an admirer of Delph after bringing him to the Etihad when he was incharge, and is interested in taking him to the London Stadium next season.

Former Leeds man Delph moved to City in 2015 for £10m from Aston Villa, and has gone on to win the Premier League twice as well as three League Cups and the FA Cup.

Meanwhile, the Portsmouth News carry a complicated story that suggests young defender Matt Clarke could hold the key to Harry Maguire's future at Leicester.

Maguire has been linked with City as a possible replacement for outgoing captain Vincent Kompany, but the Foxes reportedly want a replacement before agreeing to sell the centre-back.

The report claims they are looking at Brighton's Lewis Dunk, but the Seagulls are also reluctant to sell before having a back-up.

That is where Clarke comes in, with new Brighton boss Graham Potter believed to be a fan of the Pompey man.

Clarke, who is expected to leave Fratton Park this season after Portsmouth failed to get promotion to the Championship, could therefore play an important role in City's hunt for a defender.
