Manuel Pellegrini confirms triple West Ham injury blow ahead of Chelsea trip

Manuel Pellegrini has delivered some important injury news ahead of West Ham United's trip to Chelsea this weekend.

To say the Hammers boss has been unlucky with injuries this season would be putting it lightly.

He's been without Michail Antonio for an extended period, while Lukasz Fabianski hip injury which has kept him out of action since September has coincided with the Irons' poor run of form.

The Poland international was spotted back in light training earlier in the week, but he's not in contention to face the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

This was confirmed by Pellegrini at his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon.

Furthermore, Jack Wilshere and Manuel Lanzini are also unavailable for the short trip to west London.

"Jack Wilshere continues with some problems in his pelvis, hope next week he will start working," Pellegrini told reporters.

"Fabianski still recovering, Manu Lanzini has started working on the pitch yesterday but needs at least one month more.

"Winston Reid back next week to training."

Another player who won't feature against the Blues is central defender Issa Diop.

This because of suspension after he picked up his fifth booking of the season in the defeat against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

His absence will force Pellegrini into at least one change, with Fabian Balbuena in contention to earn a recall.

However, Declan Rice did fill in at centre back when Diop was substituted in the second half against Spurs.

Pellegrini could do the same again and partner Rice with Angelo Ogbonna.
