Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli is remaining coy about his future following the conclusion of this summer's European Championship.
Locatelli, who was one of Italy's star performers on route to their first Euros triumph since 1968, is being heavily linked with a move to both Arsenal and Juventus.
Both clubs will have been impressed by what they have seen from the 23-year-old central-midfielder in the last few weeks and are keen to lay their hands on him.
Locatelli is understood to prefer a move to Juventus, as it would mean he would get the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League in the forthcoming campaign, but Arsenal could be in a better position to seal his signature because of the current financial issues that the Italian giants are facing.
However, the Italian midfielder is remaining grounded and refusing to give anything away in regards to where his future may lie beyond the end of this summer's window.
"I haven't really thought about my next club so far, I was focused on the national team," Locatelli told Sky Italia following Sunday's Euro 2020 final victory over England. "From tomorrow [Monday] we will see what happens.
"I support Juventus? Right now we are here for the national team, so I support Italy."
In truth, Locatelli has produced a standard, respectable answer that most players provide when quizzed about their futures when speculation is high.
But whilst it is understood that joining Juventus would be Locatelli's preference, Sassuolo chief executive Giovanni Carnevali confirmed last week that the Italian outfit were in talks with a non-Italian club over the sale of Locatelli and that the discussions were at an "advanced" stage.
He said: "We’re in talks for Locatelli with one club from abroad... and it’s really advanced.
"We’re going to meet with Juventus in the next days, but there are no negotiations yet with Juve as Italian clubs are in a difficult financial situation."
With that said, it is possible that it could be Arsenal that Sassuolo have been or remain in dialogue with. The Gunners are officially interested in the midfielder and, according to Carnevali, have already lodged an "official bid" for his services.
But with the Sassuolo chief refusing to give anything away on the identity of the club they're in discussions with, it remains to be seen if it is, indeed, Arsenal.
