Mantra of the Cosmos: Sons of Beatles legends record new track

  • Sean Ono Lennon and James McCartney have collaborated with Zak Starkey, Ringo Starr’s son, on a new song called “Rip-Off” as part of the supergroup Mantra of the Cosmos.
  • Zak Starkey, formerly of The Who, shared a sample of the song on Instagram, noting that Shaun Ryder and James McCartney also contributed vocals.
  • Mantra of the Cosmos, formed by Starkey in 2023, includes Shaun Ryder, Mark “Bez” Berry, and Andy Bell.
  • This collaboration follows Lennon and McCartney's earlier release of “Primrose Hill” in April 2024, hinting at more collaborations to come.
  • Zak Starkey was recently left The Who. Pete Townshend has announced his replacement as Scott Devours.
