Mansfield's Burton staff leave heartfelt message to customers after store cleared of stock

Staff at the Burton store in Mansfield town centre have left a heartfelt message to customers and friends after the shop closed for good during lockdown.

The fashion retailer, alongside sister brands Topshop, Topman and Dorothy Perkins, were among a host of Arcadia Group brands to close their doors for good.

The brands, which alongside Debenhams have been bought out by online retailers Boohoo and Asos, will not open after the lockdown and will instead only be available online.

Pictures emerged last month of the Burton, Topman and Topshop stores being cleared inside Mansfield's Four Seasons shopping centre.

And now staff inside the Burton store have left a large message in the shop window issuing thanks to customers and apologising for not getting to "say bye".

The message says: "To all our customers and friends, thank you for all your custom and support over the years, we will miss you all."

The notice goes on to thank people who have made an impact or shown support in the store over recent years.

It adds: "Sorry if [you're] not mentioned, too many [people] to remember.

"Sorry [we] didn't get to say bye. Burton team xxx."

The brands, inside the Four Seasons, join a number of Arcadia Group concessions which have been cleared inside the Tesco supermarket in Oak Tree.

And other Arcadia stores across Nottinghamshire, including the Topman and Topshop sites in Victoria Centre and the Burton and Dorothy Perkins store in Old Market Square, have also been cleared.
