Mansfield District Council local elections results 2019

Mansfield District Council will hold local elections on Friday, May 3.

Nottinghamshire Live reporter Joseph Locker will be at the count on Friday for the council count which will begin around 2pm.

You can follow his Twitter updates here.

Mansfield District Council is currently operated by the Mansfield Independent Forum, as it has been since 2002.

Looking at the current political landscape, Mansfield District Council has 36 positions available - including a directly elected executive mayor whose position will also be available on the same day.

The results for the mayoral elections can be followed here.

The Mansfield Independent Forum currently holds 15 positions, including executive mayor Kate Allsop.

Labour hold 16 positions, while there are two Mansfield South independents and two unaligned.

The two unaligned are Stephen Harvey for King's Walk and Sean McCallum for the Sherwood ward.

The two councillors do not form part of any political group on the council.

There is also one vacancy, following the recent death of councillor Ron Jelley, who stepped down as a member of the Independent Forum from his position in Grange Farm due to illness.

You can find a full list of candidates here.
