Manoubi Haddad earns Dundee United chance as Kevin Nisbet transfer shutdown revealed

Dundee United are running the rule over Tunisian winger Manoubi Haddad.

The 23-year-old is training with the Championship leaders and looking to win a deal.

Haddad is a free agent after leaving Club Africain and is looking to return to Europe, after previous spells coming through the ranks at French side Amiens and Le Havre.

Tannadice gaffer Robbie Neilson said: “He trained on Monday and will play in a game and then we will look at him the rest of the week. We are looking for pace in the wide areas and he fits that bill.

“He thought he would get a move in January and it didn’t happen but we have managed to get him in as a free agent.”

Neilson also confirmed United were keen to land Dunfermline’s top scorer Kevin Nisbet in January.

Kevin Nesbit was at the double for Dunfermline (SNS Group)

Record Sport understands the Tannadice club were prepared to make a significant six-figure bid only to be told the striker had no intention of leaving East End Park before the end of the term.

Neilson confirmed it is a situation they will continue to monitor – although a lot will depend on whether or not Scotland star Lawrence Shankland is sold.

The United boss said: “We were keen to get him in but we didn’t manage it and it’s something we will re-assess in the summer.”
