The family of a young man shot and stabbed to death in the street today demanded an end to the “senseless” violence on London’s streets.

Noore Bashir Salad, 22, was ambushed by three men who shot and stabbed him in what witnesses described as a planned attack in Manor Park on Monday evening.

Medics battled to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene in Church Road. He bled to death from a stab wound to the leg.

Police are hunting three men thought to have fled the scene in a car after the killing at 9.30pm.

Mr Salad was the 36th murder victim in London so far this year.

Speaking at his family’s home in Stratford, one of his seven sisters described him as a “happy and loving” young man who was his parents’ only son.

She told the Standard: “He was a good person with a good heart. He was the man of the house and loved his sisters and all the family. He would look after all of us. It has been a big shock for us.

“He didn’t deserve to leave this world in the brutal and senseless manner that he did.”

The sister called for action to tackle London’s knife crime epidemic, saying: “There is too much crime these days. Now he is gone but we need to do something to stop this happening to others. No other family should go through what we have been enduring in the last few days.”

A friend said: “He was a very nice boy, respectful towards everyone, a kind soul. He didn’t deserve such an evil, senseless end.”

Detective Inspector Alison Cole, who is leading the inquiry, said: “A number of people have already spoken with officers and I am grateful for the information they have provided, but there are still pieces of the puzzle surrounding this murder that are missing.”

One man has been arrested in connection with the killing.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
