Manny Pacquaio has been sent a clear warning by opponent Keith Thurman ahead of their July 20 clash.
Pacquiao, 40, will step into the ring for his 71st professional fight against the unbeaten Thurman (29-0) later this month.
The veteran has emerged as the favourite against the hard-hitting Thurman, who looked lacklustre when he returned from a lay-off of nearly two years against Josesito Lopez in January.
But the 30-year-old insists Pacquiao will encounter a different animal this time around as he vowed to defend his WBA super welterweight title and make the 61-win legend "disappear" from the sport to mark the end of an era.
“I’m very grateful, very happy to be sharing the ring with a legend like Manny Pacquiao,” Thurman said.
“But for those who know boxing and truly understand boxing history times change. I believe boxing has come to a new era. Floyd [Mayweather Jr.] is gone. Pacquiao is here. Come July 20 he will disappear.
“I have no intention of losing to Manny Pacquiao. I don’t see him winning any way, shape or form.
“You know that was not the best Keith Thurman that you’ve ever seen (against Lopez). Come July 20 you will see one of the best Keith Thurmans that you’ve ever seen.
“I worked hard to be a champion. I’ve always wanted to fight some of the greatest names in the sport of boxing. It’s my first pay-per-view. New territory for me. Not new territory for Manny Pacquiao.”
