Manny Pacquiao vs Conor McGregor mega-fight confirmed as stars set for Middle East clash

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and MMA superstar Conor McGregor have confirmed that rumours of a sensational upcoming bout are true.

And the PacMan's team revealed the clash could take place in the coming months.

Irish fighter McGregor, who retired from the UFC during the summer for a third time, had hinted at a return to boxing.

He previously fought Pacquiao 's long-time rival Floyd Mayweather Jr in the boxing ring in August 2017.

Now over three years later, he admitted on Twitter that he would be fighting the man from the Philippines next, with the venue only given as the "Middle East".

CNN Philippines confirmed the story with Pacquiao's camp and a representative told the outlet: "Our lawyers are finalizing all the confidential details, but both fighters are getting ready for this one epic last boxing fight."

It's thought the clash is most likely to be held in early 2021 and a slice of earnings will go towards coronavirus relief efforts across the globe.

Pacquiao, 41, is the oldest welterweight champion in history after his split decision win over Keith Thurman Jr in July of last year.
