Manny Pacquiao will fight for the 70th time in his professional career when he takes on Adrien Broner this month.
Pacquiao defends his WBA regular welterweight championship against the man who was once the self-appointed heir to Floyd Mayweather’s throne – now trying to shift a reputation of being a career underachiever.
Broner has lost three times in his professional career – each time against more than credible opposition in a trio of current or former world champions in Marcos Maidana, Shawn Porter and Mikey Garcia.
Victory over eight-weight world champion Pacquiao however could help him shed that image and catapult him back into true world title contention.
Pacquiao has lost once since coming out of retirement in 2016 – that hugely contentious loss Down Under to Australian Jeff Horn.
His appetite for boxing remains as demonstrated by his TKO victory over Lucas Matthysse last July.

Date, UK start time and venue
Pacquiao vs Broner takes place on Saturday January 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
That venue means it will have to be an early start (or a very late night) for UK viewers with the fight not expected to get underway until 5am (GMT) Sunday morning.
TV channel and live stream
There is good news as far as UK coverage is concerned, however.
Pacquiao vs Broner will be available to watch free on ITV4 as part of the deal between ITV and Haymon Sports and Premier Boxing Champions which was announced at the end of 2018.
Live streaming will also be available through the ITV Hub app.
