Manny Pacquiao vs Adrien Broner result: Pacquiao calls out Floyd Mayweather after unanimous decision

WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao delivered a dominant performance to earn a unanimous decision victory over Adrien Broner on Saturday in Las Vegas.

The 40-year-old Filipino multiple world champion was quicker and more accurate as he controlled each round and cruised to the triumph over Broner, 29, who fought gamely and stayed upright despite being hit with several heavy combinations.

Retired great Floyd Mayweather attended the fight, fueling speculation of a rematch against Pacquiao. Undefeated Mayweather beat Pacquiao in 2015.

Relive all the action below.

Welcome to The Independent's live coverage as Manny Pacquiao defends his WBA welterweight world title against the controversial enigma that is Adrien Broner.

Both fighters have weighed in and are primed and ready ahead of the pay-per-view mega-clash where Floyd Mayweather will be ringside to watch his old foe and former prodigy.

Follow all the latest action with us live throughout the evening as we build up to the first blockbuster bout of 2019.

And here's the reaction from the pair's final press conference in Las Vegas this week where Broner promised to 'beat up' Pacquiao and start a 'block party' on the strip.

Is a Floyd Mayweather match-up in store for tonight's winner? The 'TBE' will be ringside.

Dillian Whyte is in Las Vegas for the fight. His prediction stays fairly tuned to the centre:

Smart money maybe says Pacquiao on his experience and what he's achieved but don't write Broner off.
Dillian Whyte's somewhat controversial heavyweight rankings:

1 - Anthony Joshua
2 - Deontay Wilder
3 - Himself
4 - Tyson Fury
The live section of the undercard hasn't started yet, but one Pacquiao associate has already tasted success this evening.

Undefeated Australian lightweight George Kambosos Jnr comfortably outboxed Ray Perez to move to 16-0.

The last time Pacquiao fought was in July, when the Filipino scored his first knockout for nine years against Lucas Matthysse.

Floyd Mayweather will not only be keeping an eye on potential opponents in the main event tonight, but is also in Las Vegas to support light-heavyweight contender Badou Jack - who fights under the TMT banner.

It's a star-studded crowd at the MGM and former 154lbs world title challenger Erickson Lubin is backing his friend Adrien Broner.

This could well come as a surprise considering Broner is renowned for a restrained punch output.
The live section of the undercard is set to begin any time now and up first it's an all-Mexican featherweight clash as Hugo Ruiz takes on Alberto Guevara.

Ruiz knocks down the late replacement Guevara with a nice left hook after just 90 seconds of the first round!
RD: 1

Ruiz (38-4) has knocked out 19 opponents in the first round, but Guevara survives the early scare after being stunned as he rushed in.
RD: 2

Another dominant round for Ruiz, who has the advantage in size and speed, with Guevara increasingly looking like a sitting, albeit resilient, duck.
RD: 3

More of the same in a flat third. Ruiz's corner implore him to go in for the finish, but their man is hesitant in the pocket, happy to box his way to another point.
RD: 4

Again, Ruiz seems to hold himself back, despite having his opponent in the headlights. Surely the Sinaloa fighter will try to push for the stoppage here?
