Manny Pacquiao to perform in concert next month as he considers next fight

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is in rehearsals for his first ever major concert next month.

The 40-year-old, who beat Keith Thurman with a sensational performance last month, is preparing to perform in a free gig for fans at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City in the Philippines on September 1.

Pacquiao has already made hit songs in the Philippines but has yet to perform in his own concert - and he admits he is unsure if he can make it as successful as his boxing events.

He shared footage of him rehearsing his renditions of OPM hits "Pagsubok" by Orient Pearl and "Buwan" by Juan Karlos Labajo on social media and wrote:

"Hi everyone, I’m going to sing and practice for my concert on September 1. I don't know if I can do it, but I'll try, I’ll do my best."

Pacquiao is also expected to perform his own hit songs, including "Para Sa 'Yo" and "Bilog Ang Mundo."

The clip he shared showed him sat playing the guitar and singing into a microphone as he occasionally looked into the filming camera.

Pacquiao's boxing career is still going strong, despite his time being taken up by his political career and new musical interests.

His win over the unbeaten Thurman showcased he can still compete at the very top despite passing 40 and he's now been called out by both Shawn Porter and Errol Spence.

Both are eyeing Pacquiao if they can win their clash with one another in September, whilst a fresh war of words with Floyd Mayweather has also increased speculation of a money-spinning rematch.

Spence said this week: "My whole thing is that I’m looking for the stoppage. I want to make a statement that I’m clearing out the division. I want Manny Pacquiao and all of the top names in this division."
