Manning Passing Academy won’t have a camp this summer

The Manning Pass Academy will not have a football camp in Louisiana this summer, Archie Manning announced on Tuesday. This year’s camp will be postponed until next summer.

“There are times during a ballgame when you have to call an audible, and I’m disappointed to say that we are going to have to call one now and postpone this year’s camp to comply with the next stage of guidelines set forth by the state and City of Thibodaux,” Archie said in a letter to participants.

“It’s a difficult decision to make as postponing the MPA affects more than just the 1,200+ campers, but also the 200+ coaches, trainers and support staff that help put on our camp. It affects local businesses, restaurants, hotels and much more.”

Athletes who signed up for the 2020 camp will have their information and payments rolled over for the 2021 camp (June 24-27). Athletes who aren’t able to attend next year can request a refund.

Peyton Manning, who won Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos following the 2015 season, serves as one of the camp’s coaches. Drew Lock, Denver’s current quarterback, served as one of the camp’s counselors in 2018.
