Manning, Brady expected to join Mickelson-Woods golf match

Sometime later this year, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods are expected to face off in a charity golf match broadcast by Turner with revenue going toward COVID-19 relief, according to a report from Golf.com’s Michael Bamberger.

The two golfers are expected to be joined by a pair of fellow superstars: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, according to Bamberger.

Brady currently plays quarterback for the Buccaneers. Manning last played football in 2015 — he retired after winning Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos five years ago.

Manning and Brady were rivals in the NFL but are friends off the field. In a recent episode of “Peyton’s Places” on ESPN Plus, Manning and Brady “sneak into” Jim Nantz’s estate and play golf on the commentator’s course.

Manning was paired with Woods at Memorial pro-ams in 2019, 2018, 2009 and 2005. It’s unclear if Brady and Mickelson have ever golfed together before.

The Manning-Woods, Brady-Mickelson showdown would likely take place in Florida with no fans in attendance. The made-for-television event does not yet have a finalized date.
