Manipur nurses warn of strike from July 29

IMPHAL: Amid the high prevalence of Covid-19 cases and fatalities in the state, the Manipur branch of the Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI) has warned of launching cease work strike from July 29 if the nurses’ demand to increase their grade pay and allowance is not complied with by the government by July 20.

The association submitted a memorandum on Wednesday to state chief secretary, saying that it has been demanding enhancement of the grade pay and nursing allowance of different categories of nurses working in the state government.

Such enhancement should be should be made at par with the nurses working under the central government since the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission in the state, said the memo.
