Manipur: N Biren Singh takes oath as CM, 5 others sworn in as ministers

GUWAHATI: Nongthombam Biren Singh and five members of his new cabinet, including one minister from Naga People’s Front, which is an ally of NDA, were sworn in at Manipur Raj Bhawan by governor La Ganesan.

Besides Biren Singh the other inducted ministers are Th Biswajit Singh, Y Khemchand, who was the speaker in the last assembly, K Govindas and Nemcha Kipgen, who is the lone woman minister to be sworn-in.

The governor also administered the oath of office and secrecy to NPF’s Awangbou Newmai.

Besides BJP national president JP Nadda, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Tripura CM Biplab Deb were present at the function.
