Manhunt underway after broad daylight mugging in Glasgow

A manhunt is underway after a woman was violently mugged in Glasgow in broad daylight.

The victim, age 47, was walking along the city's Anniesland Road, near Farmfoods at around 4.15pm on Monday when the attacker pounced.

A young man knocked the woman to the ground before snatching her mobile phone from her hand.

He then made off through a nearby park, towards Kingsway Court.



The woman suffered minor injuries and contacted police.

The suspect is described as white, in his teens or early twenties and of a slim build.

He was wearing a black bandana, black t-shirt, black zipped hoodie and black knee length shorts.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.


PC Matthew McCann said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack in broad daylight. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area of Anniesland Road to contact us or who has any information that could aid our enquiries to come forward.



"We would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around that time to review any dashcam footage they may have and apss on anything which could assist our enquiry."
