Manhunt launched for thugs who attacked two men and robbed them in Edinburgh

A manhunt has been launched for thugs who mugged two men on a busy Scots road.

A probe has been launched after the attackers pounced on their victims in Leith Street, Edinburgh at around 9.20pm on Friday July 31.

Both men, aged 30 and 33, were assaulted and robbed at the scene.

Officers revealed that neither of the victim's injuries were serious, and enquiries into the attack are ongoing

It is believed officers are aware of a hate crime element to the incident as part of their investigation.

Witnesses and anyone with information that could help with their probe are being urged to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "We received a report of an assault and robbery against two men on Leith Street, Edinburgh, around 9.20pm on Friday, July 30.

"Both men, aged 33 and 30, weren't seriously injured.

"Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3636 of 30 July.
