A woman was assaulted in broad daylight sparking a police investigation in Midlothian.
The 28-year-old was attacked on the A7 near the entrance of the National Mining Museum in Newtongrange around midday on Wednesday March 24.
It is believed the suspect pounced after getting out of a silver motor that stopped on the southbound carriageway.
Police are appealing to those with dash-cam footage or any witnesses to get in touch.
A Midlothian Police Division spokesperson said: "Officers in Midlothian are appealing for information in relation to an assault on March 24.
"At about midday, a 28-year-old female was assaulted on the A7, Newtongrange near to the entrance of the National Mining Museum.
"The suspect is known to have exited a silver vehicle that stopped on the southbound carriageway.
"We are appealing for any motorists that may have dash cam footage or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
"Anyone with any information should contact PC John Fortune on 101, quoting incident 1296 of March 24.
"Alternatively, anyone wishing to report their information anonymously can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
