Manhunt launched for firebugs who torched car on Dundee street in early hours of morning

Police have launched an appeal after a car was set alight on a Dundee street causing 'significant damage'.

Emergency services were called to Pitkerro Road in the early hours of Saturday, July 10, after the car was 'deliberately set on fire'.

The incident, which happened at around 2.15am, is being treated as suspicious.

Police in Dundee are appealing for information following the wilful fire-raising.

Cops are urging motorists who were driving through the area to check dash-cam footage.

Sergeant Wayne Brand from Maryfield Police Station said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Pitkerro Road in the early hours of this morning, and saw anything suspicious, to please get in touch.

“In particular we would urge any motorists with dash-cams who were travelling through to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance.


“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 0494 of Saturday, 10 July, 2021. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
