Manhunt launched for firebug thugs who torched car in Glasgow

Cops have launched a manhunt for two men after a car was deliberately torched in Glasgow.

Officers are investigating after a Volkswagen Golf was set alight around 12.40am on Tuesday June 22 outside a property on Hugo Close, Maryhill.

Two men wearing grey hooded tops were spotted approaching the driveway and setting the car on fire.

The blaze caused extensive damage to the vehicle and also damaged another car beside it.

Detective Constable Holly Canning said: “Luckily no-one was injured during this incident and our investigation is continuing to establish more details.

"We have been carrying out enquiries and checking local CCTV for more information on the two men responsible for setting this fire.

"They were both wearing grey hooded tops and I would appeal to anyone who saw them acting suspiciously in the area to contact us.

“Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact 101 quoting reference number 0119 of 22 June.

"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
