Manhunt launched after thousands of pounds stolen from G4S security driver during robbery at Asda in Cardiff

Police are investigating a robbery which took place at a busy Asda in Cardiff .

Thousands of pounds in cash was stolen from a driver of a G4S security van.

The robbery happened at the Asda store on Dering Road, Pontprennau , on Saturday at around 12.50pm.

The victim was left shaken but unharmed by the incident.

A shopper, who did not want to be named, said he was in the store at the time of the incident. He said: "I was by the bakery when it was taking place. There was no panic at all. It was all so casual it was unbelievale. I saw the helicopter when I came out and a police vehicle driving around the car park."

Police said enquiries are taking place to help identify and trace the suspect.

They said he is white and wearing a navy tracksuit with white stripes along the side.
