Manhunt launched after teenage boy 'assaulted and robbed of phone' on Dockland Light Railway platform

Images of two men are revealed - (BTP)

A manhunt has been launched after a teenager was assaulted and robbed in a late-night attack on a Dockland Light Railway platform.

A 15-year-old boy disembarked from a train at Prince Regent station near the Excel Centre in Newham, East London before being pounced on by two men at around 8pm on Wednesday, August 6.

One of the suspects snatched his phone and hit him, while the other restrained him as the child attempted to get his device back before the pair fled.

The British Transport Police has now released images of two individuals they believe could have information that may help their investigation into the incident.

Both appear to be wearing balaclavas and grey tracksuits.

Anyone who recognises the pair from the DLR is asked to text 61016, or call 0800 40 50 40, using the reference 590 of August 6.

Information can also be sent anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 500 111.
