Manhunt launched after staff threatened with knife in terrifying robbery in Co Meath

A manhunt has been launched after staff were threatened with a knife in a terrifying robbery in Co Meath.

The incident happened at a bookmakers on the Main Street in Dunshaughlin on Sunday.

Gardai rushed to the scene at around 5pm after a man entered the premises armed with a knife.

He took a sum of cash and then fled from the betting shop.

Staff were threatened in the incident, and officers said they are currently investigating the "aggravated robbery".

No injuries were reported and gardai said their investigation is still ongoing.

A spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating the aggravated robbery of a betting premises on Main Street, Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, at approximately 5pm, Sunday 25th July 2021.

"A male entered the premises and threatened staff with what is believed to be a knife. He took an amount of cash and fled the scene. No injuries reported. Investigation is ongoing."
