Manhunt launched after Scots teen ‘deliberately’ mowed down by car in Glasgow

A Scots teenager has been rushed to hospital after being ‘deliberately’ mowed down by a car in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Gleddoch Road in the Penilee area of the city at around 12.10am on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University by ambulance where medics describe her condition as ‘stable’.

A major police investigation has been launched with officers continuing their efforts to trace the driver of the vehicle involved.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 12.10am on Wednesday, July 21, a 19-year-old woman was injured when a car was deliberately driven at her in Gleddoch Road, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Medical staff describe her condition as stable.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the vehicle and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 0030 of Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
