Manhunt for killer after woman stabbed to death near canal in possible stranger attack

A killer is on the run after a 44-year-old woman died following a stabbing today.

Emergency services rushed to an address in Droylsden, Greater Manchester, at around midday.

But the woman died at the scene and initial enquiries suggest the male suspect fled the address in an unknown direction.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are continuing to investigate, and are unable to confirm at this stage whether the offender was known to the victim.

The killer remains on the loose several hours on.
