Manhunt for firebug thugs who torched cars in Dundee as police launch probe

Police have launched an investigation after a number of cars were set on fire in Dundee.

Police were called to the scene of a blaze on Finella Terrace around 2.30am on Friday July 16 after a black Honda CR-V was deliberately set alight.

Two men were seen to run from the car and get into a waiting vehicle, which then drove off.

They are described as both wearing black tops, one wearing black bottoms and the other wearing dark shorts and white shoes.

Officers were also investigating another similar incident nearby in which a car was set on fire at the entrance to Middleton Woods just north of Whitfield.

This incident happened around 1.35am on July 15.

Police say they were unable to identify the type of car or make as a result if the extensive damage which occurred.

The public is being asked to report any information relating to the two incidents however police say they are not formally linking them at this time.

Anyone with information can call 101 or speak to any police officer. Information can also be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. The reference is incident 0440 of 16th July.
