Manhunt as woman in her 20s is sexually assaulted inside a lift at Tube station

A young woman has been sexually assaulted by a male stranger inside a lift on the London Underground.

The victim, in her early 20s, was at Elephant and Castle station in Southwark when the evening rush hour attack happened.

British Transport Police said the man then followed her onto a Northern line Tube towards Stockwell station where he sexually assaulted her again.

The force released CCTV images of a man seen wearing a dark North Face baseball cap and black designer jacket on the evening of March 6. The attack took place at around 5.20pm.

Officers would like to speak to him because they believe he may have information that could help their investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 568 of 6 March.
