Manhunt as four people stabbed near old Charlie Hebdo office in Paris

A manhunt has been launched for two attackers after four people were stabbed near the old Charlie Hebdo office in Paris.

Two of the victims are in ‘an extremely bad way’, said an investigating source, following the attacks this afternoon.

He added: "Two attackers were seen running away, and they are being searched for. A suspect device was also spotted."

A man with blood on his clothes was arrested at an opera house in the French capital at around 12.45pm, although it is not yet clear whether he is one of the suspects.

One of the attackers is believed to have fled on the metro, Le Figaro reports.

A perimeter has also been set up near the old Charlie Hebdo office due to a 'suspicious package' in the area.

It comes as a trial takes place in the French capital concerned with the January 2015 attacks that shocked the world.

These attacks involved three gunmen linked to Al-Qaeda and Islamic State travelling around Paris slaughtering 15 civilians and two serving police officers at will.
