Manhunt after worker assaulted twice in space of an hour at Scots hotel

Cops are appealing for information after two attempted break ins in one night at an Angus hotel.

The suspects assaulted a member of staff who was inside the Cliffburn Hotel in Arbroath on Monday night, which is currently closed.

Around 7pm on May 25 two men were disturbed attempting to break into the property.

After the worker confronted them, they allegedly assaulted him before making off.

Then at 8pm, the same two men returned and attacked the employee once again.

He sustained a minor injury to his hand but was not badly hurt.

Officers would like to trace two men, both described as in their early 20s and wearing dark hoodies and jeans.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak to any police officer. Also, information can be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.

“Our reference is incident 4377 of 25th May.”
