Manhunt after thug breaks jaw of 62-year-old stranger sat on bench in 'alarming' London park attack

An investigation has been launched after a 62-year-old man was attacked by a stranger in broad daylight while sat on a park bench in Enfield.

Officers say the assault took place in Enfield Town Park at 2pm on Friday, June 26, during the previous heatwave.

The victim’s jaw was broken in the assault.

Now, police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries.

The man is described as, white, tall build, with short black hair and facial hair, wearing a black t-shirt and blue shorts.

They believe he may have information relevant to their investigation.

Detective Inspector Allen Windsor, who is leading the investigation said: “This was a highly alarming incident, which has left the victim and his family in distress.

“Despite the best efforts to identify the man, we are now appealing to the public for further information.

“Nobody should be attacked like this. We believe this to be an isolated incident and we remain committed to identifying and bringing the perpetrator to justice – can you help?”
