Manhunt after teenager flashes woman in Coatbridge leaving her 'badly shaken'

A woman was left 'badly shaken' after a teenager flashed her in Coatbridge.

The 24-year-old was walking along a canal path, between Carnbroe and Calderbank, when she saw a man 'indecently expose himself'.

Police have now launched a manhunt after the disturbing incident which happened on Tuesday at around 12:45pm.

The youth is white, aged in his mid-teens, with blond hair. He was wearing a red hooded top and blue jogging trousers.

The woman ran off and sought help from a cyclist.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Lawrence is appealing for information, he said: “This area is popular with local people and is often used by walkers and cyclists.

"I am asking people who were in the area around the time of the incident to think back and consider if they saw this youth.

"Perhaps you saw him and thought nothing of it, but in light of this crime, what you saw could assist our enquiries in identifying and tracing him, so please do get in touch.

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1663 of 7 July, 2020. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can maintain your anonymity.
