An inquest has been opened after a man died in an incident involving a hot tub in Mangotsfield.
Michael Burcombe, 73, of Ridgeway in Coalpit Heath, was fatally injured when the hot tub fell from a crane in Springleaze on September 13.
The inquest into his death was opened at Avon Coroner's Court today (Wednesday, September 29).

A coroner's officer gave the short form cause of death as multiple injuries, while the preliminary cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
The officer said Mr Burcombe was a married man and a company director, who “sustained injuries while helping to move a hot tub."
Avon and Somerset Police said they were called at 9.26am on September 13 to assist the ambulance service at a residential address in Mangotsfield, after a man was "seriously injured when a crane tipped over while manoeuvring a heavy load."

A police spokesperson said: “Tragically, the man, aged in his 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts go out to them.
"Police enquiries are ongoing in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive.”
All three emergency services attended the scene on September 13, including an air ambulance, according to a witness.
A toxicology report is to be carried out by a pathologist, while a GP report, police statements, witness statements and a health and safety report are due on November 10.
A file review date has been set for January 5, 2022.
