Mane scolds Salah, Van Dijk scares Anfield and other Liverpool moments missed vs Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool maintained their position at the top of the Premier League table on a dramatic afternoon against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Mohamed Salah's penalty earned the Reds a 2-1 win after Jordan Henderson had equalised Harry Kane's first-minute opener.

The result meant Jurgen Klopp's side still haven't lost a top-flight game since January and are again six points clear at the top.

But there was plenty that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at Anfield.

Van Dijk gives Anfield a scare

Anfield held its breath. And it wasn't because Heung-Min Son was clean through with a chance to double Tottenham's lead.

Instead, it was the sight of Virgil van Dijk hitting the deck inside the Liverpool penalty area during the first half.

The Dutchman had been put there accidentally by a flailing arm to the face from Davison Sanchez, the clumsy Tottenham defender.

The panic, though, was over moments later when Van Dijk got to his feet. He even played through part of the game with a dead leg. What a guy.

Liverpool had to withstand a bit of a late barrage from Tottenham, Alisson Becker making two decent stops from Son and Toby Alderweireld in injury time.

The second was from a corner where Tottenham goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, taking a break from saving almost everything Liverpool offered, came up to help in the quest for an equaliser.

With his counterpart massively out of position and the ball in his hands, Alisson - a full 90 yards away from the Tottenham goal - was urged to shoot by the Anfield crowd.

Perhaps in a nod to the goalkeepers union, the Brazilian declined the opportunity to possibly embarrass his rival.

Mane scolds Salah

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were delighted in Genk on Wednesday, each creating a goal for the other. On Sunday, though, they had a little bit of a brief falling out.

Midway through the second half, Salah stumbled his way into the area and fired off a shot which Gazzaniga saved.

At the far post, Mane was awaiting a pass and wasn't shy in letting his team-mate know about it.

Mind you, it was all smiles when the Senegalese won the penalty from which his Egyptian chum scored the winner. Job done.

Klopp doesn't get punchy

The final whistle sounded, and Anfield - well, apart from those in the away end - rejoiced. Liverpool's players gave each other high fives and hugs, Klopp went around each player and congratulated them.

The Kop, though, was awaiting the trademark three fist pumps from the Reds boss.

But it wasn't forthcoming, Klopp motioning towards the crowd that perhaps the intrusion of the television camera in his face was cramping his style somewhat.

There'll be other occasions this season, don't worry.
