In welcome news for Rhonda and Ketut fans (read: everyone), Mandy McElhinney — the Aussie star famous for *those* AAMI insurance ads — is reportedly being eyed to play Erin Patterson in a Netflix project dramatising the now-infamous mushroom murder case.
That’s right, just days after Patterson was found guilty of murder and attempted murder for serving her in-laws a toxic beef Wellington meal, the streaming giant is apparently already cooking up an upcoming telemovie about the case, with McElhinney earmarked for the leading role.

That’s according to an insider who spoke with Woman’s Day, claiming McElhinney, famous for “looking so hot today, like a sunrise”, would be a “perfect fit for the role of Erin Patterson”.
“She’s very talented and experienced with dramatic roles,” the insider said.
“Who could ever forget her breakout role as Rhonda the safe driver?”
Alongside her portrayal of Ketut’s holiday paramour — which played out in a series of instantly iconic ads from 2011 to 2013 — McElhinney has also appeared on Aussie TV series like Love Child, Paper Giants and House of Hancock.
While McElhinney’s role as Patterson in the Netflix telemovie is not yet officially confirmed, we do know that multiple Patterson-related projects are set to hit screens and bookshelves in the wake of her guilty verdict and the ongoing media frenzy it has inspired.
Stan is said to be in post-production on a three-part docu-drama titled Death Cap, while Allen & Unwin announced it will soon publish The Mushroom Murders, a book authored by Greg Haddrick.
ABC News, meanwhile, is producing a drama series titled Toxic, though a cast and premiere date have not yet been announced.

Given how long it’s been since Rhonda graced our screens (are her and Ketut still together?), it’ll be nice to see McElhinney stealing the spotlight once more, even if it’s as a character who’s meal would’ve been panned on MasterChef.
No word yet on whether Ketut (Kadek Mahardik) will appear in the Netflix title, but maybe they could reunite on screen over a shared meal of… anything but a beef Wellington.
