Manchester weather this week: Sunny to start with, but it's going to change

The weather in Manchester this week will be a bit of a mixed mag, with sunshine to start with but miserable weather arriving later on.

According to forecasters Monday will be dry all day, with light winds and warm sunny spells into the evening.

There could be the odd light shower in hilly areas, but most people in the region will not see any rain.

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 16C to 18C.

It will remain dry overnight, but it will feel rather cold with long clear spells.

Patches of mist or fog will form, especially in rural areas and temperatures will dip to around 4C.

The weather will be more or less the same on Tuesday, with dry conditions and warm sunny spells throughout most of the day.

However, later on in the evening there will be thickening cloud and some evening rain.

Temperatures will be slightly lower, but there will still be highs of around 17C.

From Wednesday onwards there will be a period of miserable, wet and damp weather.

Showers or longer spells of rain are likely and this will continue into Thursday, with temperatures dipping to 12C to 13C.

By Friday the wet spell will come to an end in time for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Early frost is likely on Friday and it will feel cold with sunny spells, although there could be an odd shower.

Saturday and Sunday are likely to remain dry, although it will feel a bit cooler with temperatures remaining in the low teens with highs of 11C to 13C.

A spokesman for the Weather Channel said: "There could be some cloud and rain in the west to start the week with the best of the drier brighter conditions in the east.

“Rain and showers will extend eastwards across all of the UK and Ireland midweek with a drier end to the week for many central and southern regions with sunny spells.

"Further rain and showers are possible in the north. Temperatures will be generally a little above the average.”
