Manchester weather: Temperatures set to rise to 24C with sunshine forecast for region

The weather in Greater Manchester over the past few days has been fairly dull. Rain lashed down yesterday, with cloudy skies blanketing the region.

But the weather is set to improve... and we might actually feel like we're in August. Warmer temperatures are set to return from today (Wednesday) with a largely sunny outlook for the next few days.

According to the Met Office, temperatures will climb to a balmy 24C by Tuesday. The chance of showers will be very low so the raincoats can be hung back up.

Today, forecasters predict the mercury will reach a maximum of 23C in Greater Manchester. Any clouds over the region are expected to have cleared by this afternoon with sunny intervals forecast.

More warm weather is forecast for Thursday and Friday, with sunny intervals and light cloud expected. Over the weekend, temperatures are set to hit around 20C with sunny spells forecast.

The mercury is set to climb to 23C from Monday with sunshine forecast for much of the region. On Tuesday, Met Office forecasters expect temperatures to rise even higher to 24C with more sun and light cloud predicted.
