Greater Manchester is set to be battered by thunderstorms as a yellow weather warning kicks in today.
The Met Office has issued the thunderstorm warning from 9am today (Tuesday) to 6am tomorrow morning (Wednesday).
Though forecasters predict that heavy rain will continue to batter the region into tomorrow night.
Light rain is forecast in parts of Greater Manchester until around 3pm this afternoon.
The showers are then expected to turn heavy and more widespread, according to the Met Office.
Hail showers and thunderstorms are forecast into the early evening.
Temperatures will reach of maximum of around 19C.
Overnight, more showers are expected to fall across the region with temperatures dropping to around 12C.
Tomorrow, forecasters predict a cloudy start to the day with scattered showers.
From late morning, showers will break out more widely and more hail and thunder is forecast from around 3pm.
Light showers are predicted to fall from around 6pm into the evening.
The outlook from Thursday into the weekend is unsettled conditions throughout, with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers.

The thunderstorms and heavy rain could lead to flooding and transport disruption, the warning states.
There is a 'small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly' with damage to some buildings from floodwater or lightning strikes.
