Manchester weather forecast: When will we next have a rain-free day?

Yes, we know, it's good for the garden - but it really has been a bit too wet here in Greater Manchester recently.

Rain fell throughout the weekend and it looks set to continue for much of the rest of the week.

In fact, forecasters say we won't have a completely dry day all week - though there will be some respite.

Monday (June 17) will get be a generally cloudy day with patches of rain throughout and across the region, Met Office forecasters say.

Tuesday however, will be a generally dry day with some bright spells and temperatures could reach between 19 and 20 degrees.

However there will be a chance of one or two showers in the afternoon.

A Met Office spokesperson added: "On Wednesday there will be some more rain at first which will gradually clear and it will be a much brighter evening.

"Thursday it's likely we'll see sunshine and showers and it will be a similar picture on Friday.

"From midweek temperatures will be between 17 and 18 degrees."

Looking further ahead, forecasters are predicting an 'unsettled' weekend across north western England with more rain expected.

The forecast comes after high volume pumps were used to reduce water levels in a town in Lincolnshire after severe flooding saw hundreds of people forced to evacuate their homes.

Residents in at least 590 properties in Wainfleet and Thorpe Culvert were told to leave as waters continued to surge on Saturday, with further heavy rain predicted.
