Manchester United youngster James Garner has been called up to the England Under-21 squad for the upcoming internationals.
Along with Garner, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, manager Lee Carsley has added former Red Devils academy starlet Angel Gomes to the group.
The Under 21s will face two European Championship qualifying matches in the upcoming window, as they travel to Slovenia and Andorra.
Garner has only represented the England Under-21 side on one occasion previously and he will be looking to impress his new manager after a challenging start to the season at Nottingham Forest.
The club sacked manager Chris Hughton after a shocking start to the campaign and the Championship club appointed Steve Cooper as his replacement. Garner has made six appearances for Forest in the league this season, but has yet to register a goal or assist.
Gomes was considered the crown jewel of the United academy in the past, although despite making 10 appearances for the first team he was never able to make the step up on a consistent basis.
In the summer he left Old Trafford to join French champions Lille. Gomes has made Ligue 1 appearances for his new club, but has not laid on an assist nor scored a goal yet.
Meanwhile, United duo Teden Mengi and Ethan Laird have been called up to the England under-20s squad ahead of their upcoming internationals against Italy and Czech Republic.
