Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes scores twice for England U20s as Brandon Williams starts

Manchester United's promising creative midfielder Angel Gomes once again showed his talent with a brace for England U20s on Thursday.

The young lions got their international week underway with a 2-2 draw against Italy in which Gomes played a massive part in the attacking midfield position.

He gave England the lead from the penalty spot early on and would go on to double the lead at the Ennio Tadini Stadium not long after with a lovely strike.

United fans have been calling for Gomes to be given an opportunity in the United attack and they will point towards his influence in the attacking third in Italy as further evidence that he should get a chance.

His United teammate and recent first-team graduate Brandom Williams also started the game in defence.

Sadly, England couldn't hold on to the lead that Gomes has helped them build.

Goals either side of half-time saw the Azzuri fight their way back into the game and it finished all square in Parma.

Gomes and Williams will likely be in action again on Monday when the team return home to face Czech Republic at the Weston Homes Stadium, home of Peterborough United.
