Manchester United youngster Aidan Barlow set to complete Tromso loan

Manchester United youngster Aidan Barlow has arrived in Norway ahead of finalising a season-long loan move to Tromso.

Barlow, 19, could be paraded by the Eliteserien side on Tuesday as he seeks to make his professional debut in the Norwegian league. Former Blackburn winger Morten Gamst Pedersen will be among Barlow's teammates.

His imminent move to Tromso comes after Morecambe confirmed the arrival of United defender George Tanner on a season-long loan on Monday. Barlow and Tanner both played in the Uefa Youth League for United last term.

United are expected to sign off more loans over the next few weeks, with Ethan Hamilton also likely to head out again, having excelled at League one Rochdale last term.

Salford-born Barlow rose to prominence with a 'rainbow' goal for the United Under-18s against Newcastle in 2016 and he made his debut for the Under-23s in December of that year.

Barlow netted a hat-trick against Newcastle U18s in 2017 and also struck a superb goal in a draw with Liverpool.

United sent goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara on loan to League One Burton Albion last month but the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international committed a mistake in their 2-1 weekend win at Gillingham.

"That's it," Burton manager Nigel Clough said when asked if O'Hara will learn from his error. "There was the one in the last minute, where he punches it. It should be a bigger, stronger punch if he's going to come for it. That's why he is here, learning.

"It's brilliant, as a player for Lucas [Atkins] when you miss a penalty or your goalkeeper who drops one, that you get away with the three points. It's brilliant for them."

'Keeper Alex Fojticek joined Stalybridge Celtic last week and Dean Henderson made his Premier League bow for Sheffield United at Bournemouth on Saturday.
