Ashley Young will miss Manchester United’s FA Cup third-round replay with Wolves as the full-back’s Old Trafford future remains shrouded in uncertainty.
Young is set to join Inter Milan, but is waiting on permission from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make the move to Italy this month rather than the end of the season.
Solskjaer is reluctant to weaken his already injury-ravaged squad without making additions.
He is closing in on a deal for Bruno Fernandes, but was unable to offer any updates when questioned ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Wolves.

He claimed on Saturday that Young wasn’t fit enough to face Norwich, and said the 34-year-old would ”not (be) involved at all” in United’s bid to progress to the fourth round of the Cup.
There is better news regarding Eric Bailly, who could be in the squad to face Liverpool on Sunday following a knee injury.
The game against Wolves will be Solskjaer’s fifth attempt to beat Nino Espírito Santo in his time in charge of United.
“We've played them so many times so we're gonna be facing a team that know more or less everything about us,” he said. “We've got them in a couple of weeks in the league.
“We played a decent first half last week. The second half was disappointing, but at home we want to make sure we go through.
“This tournament is one we dream about winning when we are young. I loved my time in finals and winning trophies so we want go through.”

Manchester United predicted lineup: Romero; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, Matic; Greenwood, Pereira, Rashford; Martial
Injury list: Scott McTominay (knee), Paul Pogba (ankle), Axel Tuanzebe (thigh), Marcos Rojo (muscle), Jesse Lingard (illness)
