Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has little reason to change his Manchester United team after four straight wins in the Premier League - and the Red Devils remain unchanged.
United face Southampton at Old Trafford tonight as they look to extend their unbeaten run to 18 games in all competitions and move a step closer to Champions League qualification.
Solskjaer, who has named an unchanged side in each of the last four League games, said: “There’s so many things you have to consider when you manage a team.
“We’ve got players here champing at the bit, but also those that are in the rhythm.
“There are loads of decisions to be made, but they make it easier by playing and performing well. If we don’t get too many injuries, there’s no reason to change too much when you’re doing well.”
Solskjaer also offered praise to Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, who has transformed the club’s fortunes since suffering a 9-0 defeat to Leicester earlier in the season.
“Southampton are a very fine football club with fine traditions,” said United’s manager. “I wasn’t expecting any changes. I’ve followed Ralph’s time there and have huge respect for the club.
“He turned it around and (you can) call it a German, aggressive rock and roll style of football. It’s direct, high energy, hard work and difficult to play against. And if you want to be part of his team you’ve got to be able to sprint.
“We’ve watched a few games and I really enjoy watching them. It’s high entertainment and high energy all the time.”
