Manchester United XI vs Lyon: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest today

Antony returns to Manchester United’s starting line-up for today’s friendly against Lyon with Jonny Evans on the bench.

The veteran defender has signed a short-term deal to play against the French side and Wrexham as he looks to find a new club, with a helping hand from the Red Devils.

Erik ten Hag will be without the likes of Casemiro, Luke Shaw, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford - the latter recently agreeing a new contract - due to their extended spell of rest after the latest international fixtures.

Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana is closing in on a move, but the match in Edinburgh has come too soon for the £47million shot-stopper. It means Matej Kovar will start in goal.

Mason Mount joins Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in the starting line-up after a promising debut against Leeds.

Fred was missing for that win but is on the bench along with Donny van de Beek. Anthony Martial and Dean Henderson are still sidelined through injury.

Harry Maguire was stripped of the captaincy over the weekend and has been left out of this trip.

Man Utd XI: Kovar; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Fernandez; Mainoo, Mount, Hannibal; Antony, Amad, Sancho.

Subs: Bishop, Harrison, Evans, Fish, Jurado, Williams, Fred, Gore, Hansen-Aaroen, Forsen, Van de Beek, Emeran, Hugill.
